  1. Roll Call

Meeting was called to order by President Rich Jansen @ 7 PM.  Board member present were Heitman, Finney, Percifield, Timm, Stoecklein, Wear, J. Jansen, Nolte, and Zeeb.  Absent were Simmons and Radke.

  1. Public meeting notice and proof of Public Meeting Laws.

  1. Approval of minutes of January 28th, 2008 meeting

Motion made by Timm to approve Jan meetings, 2nd by Percifield. CARRIED

 

  1. Treasures Report and approval of payment of bills

Finney reported $49,498.96 in checking account and $52,313.58 in the money market.  Stoecklein reviewed the checks and found them to be in order.  Bills presented were Finney for the Fish Fry $378.53, Power Box $199.00, Mid States rodeo registration $20.00, Larsen & Associates Tax Return $500.00, Springfield Business Association Membership $50.00, Sullivan Legal Services $810.00, Mary Ann Jansen Fish Fry $83.73, Dave Stoecklein Fish Fry $39.99.  Motion made by Timm and Second by Percifield to pay the bills. CARRIED

 

  1. Property Managers Report

Louie Post reported upcoming rentals for March and April.  Shannon Simonsen requested a 50% reduction in the rental of the fairgrounds for Springfield Days.  Motion made by Zeeb and second by Finney to approve a 50% rental reduction.  CARRIED.   Jackie Yost represented the Sheriffs Office Lodge 3 and requested a rental reduction for an Easter egg hunt.  Motion made by Percifield to grant them usage of the fairgrounds and no charge with a deposit for cleaning, second by Nolte.  CARRIED

    1. Approval of 2008 Fair Contracts.

Zeeb reported that Vendor Contracts have been mailed and some have been returned with payment.    Timm presented a contract from Shawn Thompson in thee amount of $700.00 for the 2008 Rodeo Clown and Prime Time Pickers for $350.00 for Saturday night entertainment.  Motion made by Percifield to approve the contracts and a second by Nolte.  CARRIED

    1. Approve purchasing of 4-H pens and fence for show arena.

Motion made by Percifield to purchase panels for 110 pens and fencing for a 40X60 show arena with a provision for a few additional panels for the outside pens with storage racks included not to exceed $46000.00.  Percifield noted that the Aksarben panels were no longer available for rent.  Second made by Stoecklein.  CARRIED

    1. Update from Rich Jansen on lease/purchase of Fair Ground property with the City of Springfield.

Zeeb made a motion to go into an executive session and a second by Timm.  CARRIED 

Motion made by Wear to proceed out of executive session and a second by J. Jansen.  CARRIED.

Motion made by Finney to adjourn at 7:49 PM and a second made by Zeeb.
