Sarpy County Fair Grounds Office

1. Roll Call, Heitman, Finney, Percifield, Radke, Smisek, Nolte, Sedlacek, Heinert, Stoecklein, Simmons, Rich Jansen & Jim Jansen excused absence. Called to order by Stoecklein at 8:03 pm.

2. Proof of Publication, Presented by Heitman

3. Public meeting notice and proof of Public Meeting Laws. Posted on office wall

4. Approval of minutes of May24th 2010 meeting. Motion by Percy to approve minutes and second by Nolte. CARRIED

5. Treasures Report and approval of payment of bills

a. Approve the mill levy to stay the same as last year. Requesting $134891.00 Current mill levy is .00117 Motion by Percifield to approve Resolution no. 1-2010 Second by Nolte. CARRIED

b. Approve the treasure to pay all bills regarding the fair. Motion by Nolte and second by Radke for payment of bills of 2010 fair. CARRIED

c. Finney presented the report Savings $52999.04 Checking Account $71330.59 as of 5-28-2010. Bills for approval 1.) Casey’s fuel $280.74 2.) David Finney 12 tables for 4-H Bldg $959.92 3.) Wes Buller door repairs $530.00 4.) Tix Inc. Demo Derby Tickets $76.00 5.) Snow Dog Printing for Road Signs $141.24 6.) HyVee for District Meeting Catering $448.16 7. KMTV for fair advertising $250.00 7.) KTM Fox 42 for advertising $4420.00 8.) US Asphalt Co. North Lot Millings $4700.87 9.) Kersten Trucking for North lot trucking $2287.71 10.) Heimes Corp for North Lot Dirt Work $20888.00 11.) KXCO CW15 for fair advertising $1080.00

d. Motion by Nolte and second by Radke to approve payment of the bills. CARRIED

6. Property Managers Report, June 29th Auction, July 3rd Livestock Show, July 19th Closed for fair set up

7. Old Business

a. Approve additional $10,000.00 to complete north parking lot for additional grading and asphalt in order to maintain a proper slope for drainage. Motion by Finney second by Percifield to approve additional $10000.00 CARRIED

b. Approve funding not to exceed $20,000.00 for additional bleachers east of the crow’s nest. Tabled

8. New Business

a. Approval of 2010 Fair Contracts, Badland Band $750.00 Bottom Line Band for $850.00. Wild Willy’s for fireworks $3000.00. Motion by Finney Second by Simmons CARRIED

b. Approve adding Air Conditioning to the Open Class Building not to exceed $10,000.00. Motion by Stoecklein to approve that they are upgradeable to heat. Second by Percifield. CARRIED

c. Approval of an events timer and display for $3000.00. PayPal will donate $2500.00 each year for the timer. Motion by Percifield to approve the timer second by Sedlacek. CARRIED

9. 4-H Report

a. Kathy Mann from Luv A Lamb & True Buddy Therapeutic Sheep Program wants to give a presentation of her show for the fair. Motion by Percifield to donate $500.00. Second by Nolte. CARRIED

10. Communication from the public.

a. Bob & Amy from the extension office request free use of the 4-H Building for July 24th. Motion by Nolte second by Radke.

b. Approved cost of signs for the extension office.

c. Kelly Wills from Red Rock wanted to thank us for Springfield Days. Will apply for grants from Sarpy Tourism for advertising. June 10th, 11th, & 12th for Springfield Days.

d. Mark Trapp from the Sarpy County Sheriff’s office introduced himself as the fair contact.

11. Adjourn. Motion by Finney to adjourn at 9:20pm Second by Sedlacek.
