RULES: Garden Tractor pulls

**No outside alcohol allowed on Fairgrounds**

1. Contest open to all rubber tired garden tractors with no industrial or 4-wheel drive
tractors allowed.
2. Stock Class Garden Tractors will be entered in the following weight classes:
A. Lightweights – up to 750 lbs. with maximum of 12hp.
B. Medium weights – up to 950 lbs.
C. Heavy weights – up to 1,300 lbs
3. Weight includes driver. No weight or driver changes allowed after the weigh-in is
completed. All weights must be bolted or fastened.
4. Maximum hitch height for stock class is 12 inches above ground.
5. All garden tractors in stock classes will have a stock or mfg. approved garden
tractor replacement engine to be run at mfg. specification and a maximum engine
rpm of 3750 rpm no load. No porting or polishing or high performance alteration
to engine allowed. No manual override on governor/carburetor linkage. All
engines will be check for maximum rpms prior to pulling and after pulling if
questionable rpms are observed/questions. (Sparkplug wire must be accessible
for this check of rpms.) (No motorcycle, chainsaw, snowmobiles, etc., engines
will be allowed on a stock class garden tractor).
6. Stock exhaust muffler will be used or the exhaust must discharge vertically (+ or –
10 degrees) upward and extend at least 12 inches from the exhaust port.
7. No gear shifting after individual pull stars, variator equipped garden tractors will
be allowed to use variator shifting, as do hydrostatics. Nor jerking or hole digging
allowed.
8. Each stock garden tractor will have the option of pulling twice with different
drivers. This option also will be at the discretion of the Judges at the time of
pulling.
9. No dedicated pulling tires, dual wheels, tire chains or 4-wheel dives permitted.
Tire grinding permitted.
10. Front-end weights may not extend more than 20 inches in from of the tractor
frame.
11. All drivers under 18 years of age must have parent’s written consent and
DRIVERS PULL AT THEIR OWN RISK.
12. **Contestants under 18 years of age may have one (1) pit crew person; over 18
years of age; on the track while pulling. Pit crew person can not at anytime touch
the tractor while pulling. The contestant will be disqualified if this occurs.
13. Contest to be governed by Judges with all decisions final. Judges have the right
to stop or disqualify any contestant tractor if it is operated in such a manner as
would be considered unsafe. Driver must remain seated and one hand on the
steering wheel during the pull.
14. Members of the committee immediately prior to making a pull will check gear
position and weight. Tractors may be rechecked after the pull is completed if
there is any question of pull violation.
15. Committee has the right to accept or reject any or all entries.
16. Contestants and Spectators WILL BE THERE AT THEIR OWN RISK.
TRACTOR/TRUCK PULLING CONTEST RULES

1. Weight includes driver. No weight changes or driver changes after weighin
is completed. All weights must be bolted or fastened securely to tractor
chassis. **Tractors will be weighted before entering arena for pull; this will
be the official weight.
2. **On all Turbo Tractors exhaust stacks must discharge vertically (+/- 10
degrees) this is recommended in 2008 and Mandatory in 2009.
3. Drawbar height maximum 20 inches from ground to top of drawbar. **This
will be rechecked before entering arena for pull; this will be the official
ruling.
4. **Any Tractor found to be unsafe or illegal may be disqualified and barred
from hooking.
5. No dual wheel tire chains or 4-wheel drive permitted.
6. Only one pull allowed each contestant per class unless a tie is declared.
Pull is ended when tractor engine stalls or forward motion stops. No
Jerking or hole digging allowed, slight bouncing permissible. Throttle
must have over center stop.
7. **Any part falling off the tractor after being hooked and until the tractor is
unhooked will result in disqualification.
8. Contest to be governed by Judges, with all decisions final. Judges have
the right to stop or disqualify any contestant tractor if it is being operated
in such a manner as would be considered unsafe. Operator must remain
seated. Judges can disqualify anyone whose tractor does not appear to be
of stock build.
9. Draft controlled drawbars may be used as long as they never rise higher
than 20 inches.
10. All tractors must be equipped with a hood and grill.
11. Tractors may be rechecked after pull is completed if there is any question
of rule violation.
12. **5 MPH speed limit going to and returning from the sled.
13. **Tractor must remain in bounds at all times. Out of Bounds will result in
disqualification. No measurement taken.
14. **Gas, diesel or LP fuels only. No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels or additives
may be used in tractors.
15. ** If a class is restarted for any reason, all tractors that are registered in the
class and have already pulled will be allowed to re-pull.
16. The Tractor Pulling Contest Committee has the right to accept or reject any
or all entries.
17. All drivers under 18 years of age must have parent’s written consent. All
minors, under 18 years must wear a helmet. DRIVERS PULL AT THEIR
OWN RISH.
18. Stock Pickup max hitches height 30”.
19. Contestants and Spectators WILL BE THERE AT THEIR OWN RISK.

Sarpy County Fair Antique Tractor Pull

SOUTH PARKING LOT
Stock, classic & open classes; 3,500, 4,000, 4,500, 5,000,
5,500, 6,000, 6,500, 7,500, 8,500 lbs
Open to all tractors 1958 and older through production
years
GENERAL RULES
* Tractor can pull in only three classes and only once in any weight class.
EXCEPTION: (A three or more pull). A tractor may pull twice in any weight class but will
place only once (the longer of the two). The driver may pull only once in each weight
class.
* Weights must not extend rear-ward beyond rear tires and cannot be more than
eleven (11) feet from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward. Weights
must be able to clear the ground of scale at all times. Anything falling off tractor during
the pull will mean disqualification.
* All tractors must have a stop or kill switch reachable from the seat.
* If there are any questions of rule violations, tractors may be checked after
pulling and before leaving the track area. Failure to comply will result in disqualification
of that pull. The complainant’s tractor will also be checked.
* A 5-MPH speed limit will be in effect in the pit area and while leaving the track
after completing the pull. Any violation will result in disqualification.
* Entry fees will be $15.00.
* Drivers and officials will have a meeting immediately before the pull starts. Pull
judges will be
introduced. Announcements made at this time will over-rule published rules.
* There will be a 1% weight tolerance.
* Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third places.
RULES FOR PURE STOCK
* Tractors must pull in low gear. STOCK RPM’S AND NO SHIFTING.
* Drawbar will be stationary in all directions and have a clevis or loop. Drawbar
will be no higher than16 inches and a minimum of 24 inches from the pull point to center
of the rear axle and pull from original factory pull point of the tractor. The driver has the
option to make changes on weights within the first 50 feet of the track only (BUT ONLY
ONCE).
* Wheels hubs and tires must be factory type and size.
* Factory wheel weights or suitcase weights may be used but no extended
brackets!
RULES FOR CLASSIC TRACTORS
WHEELIE BARS ARE REQUIRED OR A TATTLE CHAIN WILL BE USED
* A speed of 3 ½ MPH and no faster. 10% OVER STOCK. NO SHIFTING.
* All tractors must have original block and cylinder heads.
* No altered or cut tires. Tire size will be no bigger than 18.4x38. Tire and rim
factory specifications. No tire chains, duals or radial tires
* Drawbar will be stationary in all directions and have a clevis or loop. Drawbar
will be no higher than 20 inches and a minimum of 18 inches from the pull point to the
center of the rear axle and pull from original factory pull point of tractor.
RULES FOR OPEN CLASS
* WHEELIE BARS ARE REQUIRED! All tractors must have working kill switch
* Cut tires are allowed, No radial tires, No tires larger than 18.4x38, any gear not
to exceed 5 mph, Shifting of Ta’s allowed
* Tractors must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers, except Oliver 99GM,
etc
