Fair Grounds Office
1. President Richard Jansen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Roll call Heitman, Radke, Finney, Percifield, Wear, Stoecklin, Zeeb, Jim Jansen, Simmons, Timm, Richard Jansen.
2. Heitman presented the Proof of Publication.
3. Jansen noted the Proof of Publication Laws and Public meeting notice.
4. Motion by Percifield and Second by Wear to Approve minutes of December 19, 2008 meeting. CARRIED
5. Treasures report presented by Finney. Stoecklin reviewed checks and found them in order. 1. Fair convention $441.00 less hotels and director reimbursement. 2. Finney presented $22.89 for tax forms and $34.30 for address labels. Zeeb presented a bill for postage for the Parade mailing for $81.00. Motion made by Percifield, second by Timm to approve payment of bills. CARRIED
6. Property Manager Report: Louie Post reported that Feb 24th that Peterson is have and auction, Sears is renting March 17-19, Spring Fling is April 19th. May is booked full. Agreed that no rental will be taken 2 weeks prior to the fair and 2 weeks following the fair.
7. There was no old business discussed.
8a. Motion made by Zeeb and second by Stoecklin to approve the following 2008 Fair Contracts. 1. Lamar Companies for billboards $3300.00 2. DDOT LLC to manage the Demolition Derby CARRIED
8b. Motion made by Zeeb and second by Wear to deny the Land Lease with the City of Springfield. CARRIED
8c.Motion made by Percifield and second by Simmons to approve Dave Finney, Treasure, to pay all monthly bills. Phone utilities etc. CARRIED
8d. Purchase the 4-H Pens for the show arena has been tabled to the next meeting.
8e. Zeeb presented discussion of the Nebraska Association of Fair Board Managers Conference.
9. Monty Stauffer stated they had a Horse committee meeting and there would be no changes for the 2008 fair. There will be a livestock committee meeting on February 13th. Vern Waldren reported they were gearing up for the 2008 fair.
10. There was no communication from the public
Also discussed is the upcoming fish fry on February 8th. On Thursday February 7th we will meet at 7 pm to set up. Kevin will bring the fryers between 6-7 and help will be needed to unload and lay down carpet. Rich Jansen asked that we split up times on Friday to cook and serve. Dave Finney will get the recipe for the cole slaw, Rich & Mary Ann will get the rest of the supplies. Finney will revise the fish fry flyer and Zeeb will broadcast the new flyer.
11. At 7:57 PM a motion was made by Wear and second by Stoecklin to adjourn. CARRIED
